The “Saints” travelled to sunny Acton – West London, to face the in form London Samurai in this crucial League fixture, on Saturday 14th April.

From the off St.Panteleimon looked like a team full of purpose. Wave after wave of attacking football finally saw the Saints take the lead on 10 minutes. A superb corner from Nikos Salapatas found the well placed Demetris Anastasiou at the far post to open the scoring with a header. The “Saints” continued to press all over the pitch and the outstanding AyubAlbadri was creating havoc on the wing. His interplay with Noyan saw the Samurai’s defence undone and Noyan was brought down in the box for a penalty.  Noyan took the responsibility from the spot and fired the Saints 0-2 up.

St.Panteleimon continued to dominate possession and the superb Nikos Salapatas threatened on numerous occasions. It was Salapatas on 30 minutes who was played in by Javonne Molloy and had made it 0-3 with a well drilled shot past the keeper into the far corner of the net.  On 40 minutes it was Salapatas again who curled a delightful 25 yard shot over the keeper and into the top corner, for the 0-4. With this goal Nikos Salapatas, top scorer for the “Saints”, had become top scorer of the League as well.

The second half saw the Saints make a number of changes however the tempo and pattern of the game remained the same.  On 60 minutes the impressive Jake Knight broke free on the right and hit a thunderous drive past the keeper to make it 0-5.

On 75 minutes we were treated to what many are saying is the goal of the season.  A corner from the impressive IbadatMohammadi was met by Noyan Tajbakhsh who, with an outrageous back heeled volley, gave the keeper no chance!

Final score, 0-6 to the “Saints” who continue unbeaten, having with this victory secured the second place on the Table and the League.
