Despite the cold the Liturgy Service took place in Margate on Sunday.
His Eminence Archbishop Nikitas headed the service assisted by Father Demetrios Kontelidis, Father Piotr Prokopczyk and Reverend Leigh Daynes of St Johns Anglican Church. Also assisting were Archdeacon George Tsourous and Mr John Shinkwin.
Also present were Christos Karaolis President of the National Federation of Cypriots in the UK and Marios Minaides representing the Association of the Greek Orthodox Communities. There were many guests from the Local Councils and the Police.
A speech was made by the MP Roger Gale and all the guests were invited to a reception at the St Michael’s Community Centre.
